Welcome to HRRC
Wednesday, 30 August 2006

Welcome to the club web site, we hope these pages will be of help to you in understanding the club and what we do.

Firstly, a little about the club itself. It was originally formed in 1964 and is affiliated to the British Horse Society. From those early days things have gone from strength to strength and now has in excess of 170 members and increasing all the time. We try to provide something for everyone, from the very competive to those who just enjoy hacking.

The club is run by democratically elected voluntary committee of approximately 12 people who meet about once a month. If you would like to contact one of the members please refer to the Contact Us page.

During the year we run our own competitions in showjumping, cross country, and dressage and all levels are catered for so we do hope you will have a go. Also, particulary during the winter months when it is quieter, we organise lectures and demonstrations which are very popular. Then there are social events, ten pin bowling, quiz nights, etc. The scheduled events will normally appear as link down the left hand side of this page.

As well as our own competitions we compete with other clubs in our area. This year for the first time we have an Endurance Team as well as Dressage, Showjumping, Hunter Trials and Horse Trials. The objective of this is to reach the Riding Club Championships. These are held annually and the more people who try for the teams the better.

There are training sessions available all year at very reasonable rates and we have some fantastic trainers in our area. So if you need a little help here and there click Contact Us on to get in touch with one of our Committee members.

We do hope you enjoy being a member of the Hampshire Rural Riding Club. Our aim is for you and your horse to benefit from your membership and we pride ourselves on being a friendly club committed to helping each other and of course our horses.
